Why You Need RTR Update: A First Month's Review

Hello my Lovelies!

My first month of RTR Update has come to a close and now it's time for me to dish the details. Was the $89 this month worth it? YES!

As noted in my previous RTR Update post, with this subscription package I am able to rent four luxury clothing/accessories options for the month and only pay $89 for it (which includes shipping/dry cleaning/insurance/etc) with the option to buy at a heavy discount afterwards. You are probably now wondering, well what if it doesn't fit? This actually happened to me my first month and it's quite a seamless process. You can either pay an extra $12 for another item of your choice to be sent to you, or you can head over to the Rent The Runway flagship in NYC and return it there for FREE. Thus, since I opted for a mail in replacement/return, this month's total for me was actually $101. Was it still worth it? Of course it was! Let me count the ways...

First off, the clothing options I chose were cultivated with purpose. I had a few holiday parties to attend, and I wanted daring and fun clothing separates for my day to day. Thus I ended up with two party dresses as well as two black lace tops. Reviews for each item, as well as size chosen will be under each photo below!

If you would like to get your own subscription and live the life of luxury for less like me, use this link to get started and get 20% off your first month!

Designer: Amur
Tank Name: Black Illusion Lace Peplum Top
Size Worn: 12
Details: I am OBSESSED. This was one item I was so close to purchasing so that I could keep it forever. I am still thinking about re renting it and buying it at a later date! The fabric is a thick beautiful lace that feels like true luxury, no bra is needed for B-C cups (D's might need some extra support), and the deep V neck where there is just lace (no lining) adds a sexy edge. The funny part is that although the neckline is deep (reaches almost to the belly button) it still looks classy. If you need to cover up though, simply add a black tank underneath!

    • Designer: Milly
Dress Name: Cady Bell Sleeve Dress
      Size Worn: 12
Details: This dress was such a beautiful color and was easy to zip up. Definitely true to size, but be slightly wary because it is great at hiding imperfections, however with a full bra it doesn't exactly accentuate the good parts either. It tended to be very boxy on me. Despite this, the sleeves made it a very fun look!

Designer: Nicholas
Blouse Name: Ruffle Cold Shoulder Top
Size Worn: 12
Details: This top is SEXY AF. It is actually fully sheer but with ruffles placed in jussssttt the right areas. For date night, or a night out on the town with the girls this top is sure fire! For day to day use, I simply added a black tank top underneath to make it more "every day" appropriate. I would definitely rent this again!

Designer: Amur
Dress Name: Red Mila Dress
Size Worn: 12
Details: SIZE UP. That's the first thing you need to know! I had the size 12 and it zipped up with a mild amount of difficulty-however once in the dress I felt like I was in a tight harness. There is minimal stretch to the fabric, so although I got it zipped, I wish there was a size 14 available to that I could breath and eat comfortably. Moment of truth: I purposely brought an oversized sweater to wear over it so that I could unzip the dress if I needed to. One cocktail and appetizer later and unzipped it went!
